Brisbane catamaran centre will have the best history. Designed as a practice boat for the Tornado it is a very well behaved and predictable boat. Rights to manufacture were sold out of Britain to Aussie. The Aussie guy got a rep for bad production values with boats varying up to 20 kgs in weight. He was lazy to say the least. This and the light rig drove the boat out of production. Some tried to up the rig to twin trap but this almost always resulted in a broken mast.
My experience suggests any boat new to you will leak and need a complete break down and re-built. The rear beam has a habit of walking and cracking so welding is generally needed. BCC now have the new beam extrusion with a built in track. Image is of a friends with a Taipan sail cut down to square top which is working well.
Great one man boat up to 30 knots except for weight on beach.
