Leg 2 - Ft Lauderdale to Jensen Beach
Another Drag Race

Well life has been much easier for the sailors than last year so far. By this time last year there were broken limbs and boats. And then it got worse as the boat crashed into the surf at Jensen Beach. And then there was extreme devastation at Jensen Beach that nearly wiped out the entire fleet.

Not so today. There is a balmy breeze off the ocean at around 8-10 mph. It will probably pick up during the day and, like the first leg from Miami to Ft Lauderdale, give the sailors still another easy reach to Jensen.

More coming later. Meanwhile be sure to keep checking our Beach Hot Line!

Evening Report (Sorry for the delay in reportin -- still suffering tech problems!)

Technical support is wonderful, isn't it? First you get to choose either "1" for English, or "Dos" for Espanol. Then you find you may be a recording star when you hear, "This call may be recorded for ..." Next, you have to pay close attention because "...our menu has been changed!" Somehow none of the selections seem to answer your question. So, you have to select a number that gives you the menu again.
When you finally do get around to the selection that vaguely resembles what you are after, you get to listen to delightful music, blended with advertising about how great the product is that you are having problems with.
That is how I spent the day.., eating up valuable cellphone minutes listening to music and hype. But, not getting the satellite dish to work that we purchased just for the Worrell 1000. Seems that Tech Support only is good for giving you another number to call for your particular problem. And the routine repeats itself.
That is my feeble excuse for this extremely late report.., and I am sticking to it!

We have some great video -- just need to get them on the site soon -- Still working on it.

However, This is a video recap of the day. Click here for Video

Meanwhile, Before the race Michael Worrell, race organizer, had this to say:

The leaders after day one were Team Castrol. Here they had a great start, bashing through the beach.

However, Castrol fell back a bit and Alexanders, followed closely by Tybee, walked away from the fleet to capture top spots.

Tommy Bahama flew off the starting line!

Two teams battle it out!
