I feel your pain. I, too, have daggar boards that seem to window lock or jamb when you don't pull them out just right. I discovered that when pulling them up, don't just pull straight up. Note that they slip into the trunks on a slight angle fore to aft. If you pull up and ever so slightly forward they slip out like a greased pig. I am going to try to bond in something fuzzy and padded like has been suggested above. I will look for something that is adhesive backed rather than using any goo that will be more permanent then I would prefer.
