Any one know where I can find out if an alteration to an A cat such as adding a 2" strip to the side of each hull in the traping area is still class legal. Would this incur a rating change and penalty?

This would effectively add 4" to the overall width of the boat.

Also where would I find this refferenced. Class rules or what is permitted.
