Hey Brian
My crew couldn't make it up to Hartwell until early Saturday morning, so I went out on Friday with a local F18 sailor on his tiger.
Saturday we got on Undecided. There was a backup at the ramp and we missed the first start so we decided to just hop in at the end of the race and go around the cans none-the-less just to get a shakedown out of the way. It was the first time the boat had been on the water since Tradewinds.
Second tack of the second upwind leg, I crank in the mainsheet and pow. Harken Rain and the traveller car had separated from the rail. Lashed it down and headed back in. With the price of masts these days, and the fact that I had brand new sails on the stick, I didn't want to risk any more of my money sailing in moderate to heavy breeze. (For those of you keeping track, thats a bit of #7 with some #13 thrown in there I think) So we headed in and start scouring for a new traveller car. EVERYONE was on the water. I wasn't huge on digging around peoples' gear boxes while they weren't around so we de-rigged, did some other work to the boat. JC sold me his spare traveller car at a very decent rate when he got off the water. The next morning we stuck it on and went sailing Sunday.
As for the repair,
The boat was airtight in that hull before the accident, and now it hisses when we pull out the plug. Now if I can just get him to find and fix the leak in the starboard hull that'd be great :P
