It was a nice event. Jake and the I-20s really put on a show as they were the only boats that really moved in the light air. The surf comp and kayak demos were great as well. Some rental cats would have gone over well as many spectators wanted to go out if possible. My hope is that Surfside will see what happened and lax the no boats on the beach rule down the road.
I don't like light wind and combined with the new sail I was totally lost. It was just frustrating too me but I learned a valuable lesson, I am not interested in learning to sail in light air. It was so very obvious how much better a sailor David Strickland is than I. I have contacted the sailmaker for his input on the issues with the sail.
It was great meeting James and Kent. Thanks to Trey for helping out with the sail and tell-tells.
