Guess the question revolves around the extent of the difference of bending characteristics between the two materials and whether the sailmaker actually designs a different sail based on the material of the mast (I actually doubt that this is the case).


Good sailmaker will ask you for pre/bend and bending characteristics, not material. Other point to check is track width, some A-Cat carbon mast have a wide track for plastic tube with increased diameter instead of a rope.
