Greetings,
After watching the Spitfire video for about the umpteenth time, it struck me having an F16 video might be fun. And having one might help to promote the class worldwide.
My basic vision is to gather a small collection of videos showing various F16's sailing around the world. The video would be done over a music soundtrack - the old Chuck Berry soung, "Sweet Little 16" might be nice - to get the viewers blood pumping. Once the video was complete, we'd post it on the website for viewing.
If it meets with everyone's approval, we'd hang it out there permanently. We could maybe even give them out on mini discs to people who contact our class reps for more information.
The video would feature all of the boats (Taipan, Blade, Stealth, Spitfire, Mosquito, etc.) currently sailing as F16's. We might even identify some of the more popular cats (Isotope, Freestyle 474, Cobra, Mystere 5.0XL, Nacra 5.0, etc.) that could be easily converted to sail as F16's.
And now comes the good part. I live in SoCal and have a friend who produces music videos professionally. (Doesn't everyone in LA know a record producer?) I think there's a reasonable chance I can get the finished product produced at no cost to the group.
If all of you fine F16 people think the idea has merit, let me know. I'll start putting it together. One thing I will need from all of you is the sailing videos. So, if you're onboard with a video promotion let me know, and send me your sailing tapes as soon as possible.
