What region is the DVD ?

4: Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands, Central America, Mexico, South America, and the Caribbean
5: Eastern Europe (Former Soviet Union), Indian subcontinent, Africa, North Korea, and Mongolia
6: China
7: Reserved
8: Special international venues (airplanes, cruise ships, etc.)
And region 0 is free of all restrictions.
Depending on the DVD player, it may have a physical lock indicating which region DVD's it will play.
Or it may have a software lock (Arcam for one are like this
)
Do a google for "DVD type"+region+hack and you
might find the appropiate software code to add.
I cannot be certian that a hack will exist, or if there are any risks in using these. All I know is that I have hacked my Arcam DV88P to be region Zero and it will play anyhing
