I suppose it would not have been so close if Bundy could count the right laps..replace his 20 with a 1 and it does not look so close to me. Probably could have gone home a day early.

Result below if you replaced Bundy's 20th with a 1st.

1st Bundy/Gashby - 1, 1, 3, [3], 1 = 6 with a drop
2nd Stevie/Willy - 4, 1, 1, [7], 2 = 8 with a drop

FYI if Bundy did not race the last race or did not score a 1st or 2nd, than Stevie / Willy would have won on tie breaker. See below.

1st Stevie/Willy - 4, 1, 1, [7], 2 = 8 with a drop
2nd Bundy/Gashby - 1, 1, 3, 3,[DNC] = 8 with a drop

Bundy was building his boat straight out of the box on the Saturday morning.

Correct, they assembled the new boat which was the same as boats they race all around the world (Factory Tiger)... Set the boat up probably the same as they do to their other boats, tuned them the same using their years of experience they have gathered racing the factory Tigers all over the world.

Stevie / Willy have never raced a F18 together before. They sailed their fathers Capricorn (not raced) only a couple of times just recently. Took delivery of their new boat, developed a main sail for it, tuned the boat, got on the water to race the Capricorn for the first time and gave perhaps the 2 best catamaran sailors the world has seen, a very hard time.

Credit where credit is due mate....... Bundy / Gashby came through in the end, but had to fight very hard for it.

Stevie and Willy should be a powerfull combination when they get to know the boat.
