My poor little Spitfire soul is quaking in my boots

What do you think Wouter

I think that today wew must commend the SCHRS committee and ISAF for effecting chances to the SCHRS handicap system. It is a commonly accepted fact that alot of sailors and organisation had their pet misgivings about the rating system (and of other rating systems as well) and both the SCHRS committee and ISAF have responded to that. From what I can tell by reading the FAQ pages it seems that SCHRS has now become the most advanced rating system of them all, coming most closely to the wishes of the different parties. That is something that deserves our recognition, especially from hardcore critics like myself. But I want to see the final rating values before making a final judgement.

Personally I'm not too worried about the F16 handicaps, we didn't play the handicap rules to get a favourable rating. We actually tuned the specs to have the F16 fit the F18 performance and as such any rating system, irrespectibally of the modifications, is expected to find the two the same performance wise or extremely close to one another (rounding off differences). And I sure that the Spitfire will remain close to these two rivals as well; it is afterall a very fast boat as race results have shown

But indeed this is one of those lottery nights were everybody is exited to see where the numbers will fall. Great fun !

Thankyou Wouter.

We also have not actually finished yet (not sure we ever will). There was one item that did not make it into the rules this time. It is something that the group will be looking at for the next evolution (March 2008).

Edit to add, Wouter, SCHRS now goes to 3DP and so the rounding is no longer an issue for SCHRS, the granuality (we believe) is now at a level where this is no point designing to the rule

If I can get hold of the webmaster tonight, the ratings will go up, if not we may have to wait until tomorrow.
