Team Lovell is one of the two male-female teams in the top 4 and doing very well indeed at 2nd place. And hey look ! There is one of those F16 midgets everybody talks about.
That capsize costed team Tomko dearly as the report says that they flipped right at the finish after leading that entire race. That must have hurt. If they get back up and finished 4th then they will still be 3rd otherwise they drop further down the listing
Such a pity for this mixed team
Team Pierce / Spina is only the second all male team in the top 4.
Sadly :
Teams Olli Jason / Kelly Jason (17.5 or more) and Bill Gillespie / Colin Page (18 or more) are losing contact with the leaders. The rest is pretty much out of contention by now as these crews have all scored over 27 points allready.

Those poor chaps could have had PERFECT sail trim for the whole race EXCEPT at that moment, and some group of armchair commodores are gonna bust their balls about it?
I don't see anything wrong with analyzing a photograph. Still photos are excellent teaching tools. The identity of the sailors, the ability of the sailors, and the context of the situation are not really pertinent in discussing the photo itself. There is no way to be judgmental about it. It just shows what it shows, as far as mast rotation and leech twist. No way to say whether this was good or bad in that particular situation, that particular second in time. The photo can still be analyzed, just on its own merits in a generic kind of way -- like a file photo that a magazine pulls out for an article to illustrate a certain type of trim.
What is bad is when people start criticizing the sailors based upon that photo.
I agree 100% that photos and video can be excellent teaching tools, but the statement that you can divorse the sailors for from the photo is complete rubish! Again, these sailors didn't ask to be reviewed by a bunch of forum divers.

Nor did they ask you to act as their protector. And certainly nobody asked you to judge on the postings in this thread. So why don't you just stop camouflaging the venting of your own frustration as something more noble.
Geez ! We are just having some fun here.
Nobody has any idea who those sailors are, can we even tell ? In the second picture we surely can not, the resolution is far too small.
Go out and do some sailing, or pop some Lithium before you get a heart attack or blow a brain attery.

Sadly Team Tomko couldn't prevent teams Jason and Korz from slipping across the finishline before they could right the boat and finish themselfs. That lead turned into a 6th place in race 4 and that sees them switching places in the overall listing with team Pierce/Spina.
The wind just keeps honking mind you. In last two races it was 20 knots and 19 knots. At no race so far has the wind been less then 14 knots.
This is hard work for the teams.
It is also interesting to note how the daily report mentions :
"Blades have been a good choice of boat for this event because all team weights can do well."
Wouter, I will guess that what is wrong with your picture is this; there is little wind yet the boat is on it's side, so you must have been trying to fix something up the mast? Stuck spin. halyard or something?

(they would like Dave to act as both protector and judge from all Wouterisms)
Dave is wise. Dave knows best. Dave will protect me and my friends. Dave is not FAD.
"The election is over, the talking is done, Your party lost, my party won. So let us be friends, let arguments pass, I’ll hug my elephant, you kiss you’re a $$.” Liberalism = A brain eating amoeba & a failed political ideology of the 20th century!
It looks like there will be pretty good wind again today for the Alter Cup. A weak cold front is approaching which will bring the wind out of the South West, here in Tampa (stuck at another horse show) it is blowing about 15 right now.
The front is not supposed to bring much rain, just a few showers here and there, then the wind should swith to North West as it passes. Temps today around 86 low of 66 tonight, high of 84 tomorrow, don't know what the wind will be for Saturday yet.
It's rare to get 4 days of good wind all in a row down here so this has been great. I hope it holds for tomorrow. Good Luck AC Boys and Girls. <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
