Posts: 5,590 Naples, FL | If anyone wants windsurfers, I've got about 4 I could part with, especially if they will be used for some sailing club/camp.
Fanatic Mega Cat with 10.0m and 8.0m sail Bic Vivace 290 and 270 Bic Hip Hop (8'4" I think)
UP slalom race sails 6.7, 6.3, 5.7, 5.3 UP wave 5.5 and 4.9 I think
Masts, booms and mast bases.
I think the footstrap anchor bolts (aluminum pieces) may need to be replaced on the Vivace, as electrolysis between the stainless screw tears them up. They slide out easily, but I don't know where to get replacements.
All equipment is circa 1996-1998, and has been garage kept since I stopped racing in 98. Fanatic is in avg condition with some soft spots, but at 12' length, it's a good starter board attached to a 5.0 sail. The 10.0 and 8.0 were for class racing. Some of the smaller sails have never been used.

Posts: 5,590 Naples, FL | And the doc that removed 1/2 of my disc frowned when I asked if I could go wavesailing again. Something about "sure, if you don't plan on walking again" comment....
But, if I can make a buck, that's one more toward my Gunboat 52, right? <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

Unregistered | I taught windsurfing for years. The most logical approach is to systematically develop the reflexes that will make the boat do what you want.
Know that you're going to drift downwind as you learn, you need a friendly lee shore for this.
Begin by standing on the board and pulling up the sail. Just hold the rope for now. Pull the rope straight to your right, you'll notice that the board turns and you have to shuffle around. Turn the other way. Climb back on the board and be more careful next time.
To start, aim at right angles to the wind and do the cross over move. Aft hand holds the rope and pulls sail to weather past your shoulder. Forward hand crosses over and grabs the boom. Now the aft hand grabs the boom and pulls in.
Steer by tilting the sail forward or aft.
Remember, no rain means no rainbow.
