Are you guys watching this match today, live? What did you think of the cover on the two upwind legs? Compare and contrast...

is there somewhere online to watch the races? On the americascup website it requires a fee to watch the animations...

Patrick,

The AC races are also on VS which used to be OLN here in Pensacola. It's on at 0730 live, and there are replays at 1200 and 1800 I believe. VS (Versus) is channel 42 in Pensacola. BTW, the Tour De France is also on that channel starting next week. That may not interest most sailors but this will. I have lost 15 pounds cycling, and I know how most sailors are concerned about weight aboard the boat. It's not a bad sport to take up when not sailing...........

Tom

Thanks,
Unfortunately on my basic basic cable 42 is MTV!!! ewww... oh to trade!
looked through the rest and nothing. oh well. I would really like to watch the starts.

Here's what I saw; Alinghi won the start but tacked away after a long drive on stbd towards the port layline. I think TNZ was slowly creeping up onto their lee bow, so they decided to tack away. Big mistake. Shortly afterwards, TNZ tacks to port and gets a lift, rounds in front and holds that way to the leeward gate. They went to the left side of the gate, Alinghi took the right behind them. Instead of tacking over to sit on top of Alinghi right away, TNZ allowed a bit of separation, then tacked, and when they came together, the Swiss had made some advance, and after two more lee bow attempts, were able to get on top of TNZ and stay there. TNZ had one more shot at them on the run, but intead of trying to get into a fight, they gybed away. I hope they can figure it out tomorrow, I would like to see it go all 9 races.

After watching Lionel Messi play, I realize I need to sail harder.
