Posts: 145 Cheshire, UK | What is the address of the F16 website? I have previously used formula16.org, but it is now "Forbidden". Is it me?

I don't know whose responsibility it is but shouldn't there be a concluding remark on the Global Challenge 2007 right on top of the main page, possibly just below the announcement of the 2008 global challenge ? With a link to a summery of the event ?
The webpage and forums are our business cards to the world. If we are slacking on those then we are slacking on the image we are getting across to potential new class members / customers.
I would like to propose the GC takes action on this. And I would like to propose that the GC find a dedicated "content master" in addition to Paul being the technical webmaster.
Everybody, we have got to sort out these things properly.

Posts: 9,582 North-West Europe | I can't speak for the GC but in the past we didn't have a final editor. It was all peer reviewed like most of wikipedia is.
I'm still at this time doing most of the updating and I'm not being "editorialized" by anybody.
So Rolf, you are more then welcome to add to the webpage, Paul Warren can set you up with an inlog account. When you add stuff just announce it on the forum or privately to Paul and myself and the peer review proces can commence.

Naturally Paul W. is doing to same for the hosting and bandwidth costs.
And Rick White is still gracious enough to let us have this forum for free.
I just wanted to make this clear so that the class members understand that these things don't just happen on their own. That there are some people in the backgroun covering for the items that are normally paid from the membership fees.
So how about getting those national organisations online !

Patience is a virtue!!.
Most of us have jobs (some have 2!)& family to deal with, then we get to spend some time on those sorts of things.
But I would agree that you personally (or others) should not have to pay for class incurred costs.

Are there better alternatives ? If so, should we switch ?

If I were doing it again, I'd want to do it in straight HTML, built using templates. That said, I don't have a good answer as to how we'd integrate the calendar and gallery. I didn't realise the domains were up for renewal. If I did, I would have mentioned that my company now does domain registrations. The matter of the domains was raised at the AGM, and it was agreed that the class should take these on. Paul | | | Re: I've reached in my pocket again.

Unregistered | Would html provide better security? (not a rhetorical q.)
If you wanted to do the whole thing yourself, forever, html might be fine, but Hans, Rolf et al may not find it as accessible. | | |
