Yes, this is my setup - blue rope goes to the shrouds.

There seems to be a red line that goes through the tramp. Does it end at a cam cleat on the hull?

Thanks.

It did, it's now changed - hopefully some up-to-date pics will be posted as others too pics of it, but it's basically like this now:

Have you considered moving the cleats that are by the beam to back by the sidestays? There should be a convenient grommet near there.

I think what he is asking is; how do you reach the control line while out on the wire? If you run a long enough line all the way out to where you are trapped, you will get tangled in it when you come in to tack. I tie my rotator tail to my downhaul tail, around the base of my trap bungie line, so all I have to do to reach both while trapped is bend my knees, reach down, grab a handfull and then pull the correct string... which doesn't always work, as usually when a gust comes on, the last thing you want to do is bend your knees and reach inboard for the rotator or downhaul. I just ease the mainsheet in the gust, and if I want to change the rotation, I do it during the next tack or reach down in the next lull. Sometimes it would be nice to have a 100lb. (super hot) girl crew to do it for me though!

Scooby: I think that's a little too complicated for me.

Bobcat: I'm not sure what I want to do at this point.

I have a very, very simple system that works just fine. I run the mast rotator line (blue in the photo) around the shroud and then back across the tramp where I tie it to the other end of the blue line. Lines are yet tied in the photo, but I hope you get the idea. When in the trapeze, I just reach down and grab the line to adjust. When sailing with crew I like to keep the tramp cleaner, so I run the blue rotator line through the front beam. The crew just reaches down to grab it as needed. I do the same with the downhaul.

Eric: Thanks for the pic. I definitely have to do something before the Area D qualifier .

Pete,

It might look complex, but it works every time.

I now have the "uncleat line" going alonmg the boom, so as you come on to pop the kite it's one pull to uncleat the rope and go to max rotation, when the kite comes down, the tension in the downhaul rope pulls the rotation back on.
