13 Things Not to Share with Your Co-workers 9. Blogs or social networking profile What you say in a social networking community or in your personal blog may be even more damaging than what you say in person, Solovic warns. “Comments online can be seen by multiple eyes. An outburst of anger when you are having a bad day … can blow up in your face.” Do you want HR to know you're the kind of person who argues on the internet? I don't.

Posts: 9,582 North-West Europe | Amazing isn't it, to what length anonymous posters go to justify their own cowardness.
This time one of them is hiding behind a disabled person !
That must be a new low.

Posts: 5,582 “an island in the Pacifi... | Dude, I've got a kid that was born with a lot of problems, the worse being spina bifida. He will live with both physical and mental challenges his whole life. He's had many surgeries to help improve his quality of life.
He's a good kid, hold down a job where he gets good reviews and has many friends who look out for his well being.
The saddest thing he ever said was to ask my wife, "Mom, will there ever be an operation that will let me walk like other kids?"
Your poster is in extremely bad taste. You sir, are a piece of hot, steaming fecal matter. Please don't ever post another message here again. US Sail Level 2 Instructor US Sail Level 3 Coach | | | Re: That's Mr. Weanie to you

Posts: 4,119 Northfield Mn | WOW! Retarded is not a very nice word to use for mentally disabled people. At the risk of being burned at the stake.... Why is retarded not politically correct? I guess I wouldn't wholly consider it accurate, when I think of a good context for the word retarded I think of: backed off, turned down, something of that nature. More along the mechanical lines. Its in no way demeaning, it could be used in a demeaning manner, but that has nothing to do with the word it self or what it describes. Does saying Mentally Challenged or Mentally handicapped somehow soften the blow of the truth? Will these terms at some point become as publically unacceptable as retarded if overused? Giving a condition a different name doesn't make it any less tradgic. Would it have been different had the poster used more P.C. language? The point is that we facelessly argue one another and on certain points nothing can be gained or won, there by making us act or appear much less intelligent than we are.

Intolerance is just the latest form of discrimination. Well Karl, my son is mentally retarded/mentally challenged/etc. We know it and we use the term to describe him when asked what his issues are. We do not, however, use the term to disparage him or anyone else who have challenges in life beyond their control. The graphic above is mean spirited and lacks any taste. I am intolerant of scumbags who think posting something like that is humorous. Would it be okay if the Downs kid was replaced with an African American and some witty remark about his/her race or appearance? The Downs kid would laugh if shown the poster. The African American would kick your butt. Pick on someone who understands and can fight back. US Sail Level 2 Instructor US Sail Level 3 Coach | | | Re: That's Mr. Weanie to you

Posts: 461 Victoria, Oztralia | I've got to say when I first opened to read this thread, I thought this would be one of those more amusing conversations I often read on the forum, I get a lot of laughs off this forum, some teeth grinding, but more laughs.
But that is the weakess, lowest, most distasteful thing I have seen to date, you sir, are as weak as piss, I hope you are identified, and you lose some friends, thats what you deserve, think about it.
Can we get that removed, if the poster won't get rid of it? Rick or Mary?

Posts: 1,304 Gulf Coast relocated from Cali... | I had the pleasure of taking kids sailing at Camp Bluejay in Tehachapi California a few years ago with the local Hobie dealer and I have to say it was one of the most rewarding sailing days of my life. To be there with those kids and be around their enthusiasm while sailing was moving to say the least. We could all learn alot from these kids. Mr. Zelot has over-extended his "Karma Insurance Policy". When he is at his lowest point in life (if he isn't already), this will be right there staring him in the face. If I ever get to meet him in person, I hope I am strong enough to just take pitty on him rather than break his nose.

Posts: 5,558 Key Largo, FL & Put-in-Bay, OH... | Okay, I have managed to delete the offensive graphic in both the beginning post and its attachment.
I did not delete the user from the forum, because he has been contributing to the forum for quite a while and this is the first offensive thing I have seen. He made a mistake, as many of us do from time to time on the internet as well as in e-mails, and I think he has been properly punished by the forum users.
I DO think he should apologize.
I have seen that same picture elsewhere on the internet, used in the same negative context, and I think he just saw that and thought it conveyed what he was trying to say. BIG error in judgment.
