First off, I have managed to mess up really bad. The dates for the event we are aiming at is 28.07-29.07, end of july, not june..

Also I was too eager too look location instead of dates... Anyway I'll be there, but if you move this even more forward then I wont .

Does look like a great place! Too bad I have committed to sailing the GC in Mumbles. I won't mention it to my husband because he will want to change holiday destinations.

By all means, dont go to Sweden for a low-key "Scandinavian challenge" event if you can go to Mumbles and the GC!

Valtteri, have you looked at the schedule and confirmed that my eyes and brain are in sync this time? Jeez..

BTW: That beach is the nicest launch we have been to. If the sun is shining, the water is lukewarm in there. Sheltered from all directions there could be trouble with surf etc.

Yeah, I wonder why I didn't read that calendar through first time... It ends at early August, July and June are easy to mess up sometimes (I always need to check which is which).

Ok, we are on! Ref: http://www.nordicweek.se/ look for the F-16 logo.

We need 5 boats to get a start, but we should aim for at least 8-10 boats. Gato, Holger, Alf and you other swedes, time to commit if we want this to happen. It is even possible we get one of the Dart16 guys to come down with us from Norway just to participate and have a good time, so follow his example and do this for fun.
Who else can we put some pressure on to make them come?

There is now one entry.

We don't have exact date yet for our class, are we sharing dates with Tornado/H16 or F18/Melges/Kona? Shouldn't matter for me this time, but for some it might be needed.

We are racing with the tornados and Hobie 16s. Probably on two different courses? Will be quite some cats there those two days. 28.07 and 29.07-2008

Firm:
Gato
Valtteri
Rolf
Frode

Possible:
Omar
Bjørn

Guys we would like to hear from:
Alf
Holger
Pontus
Mangan (Magnus)

Anybody else?

I'll fill in my entry and pay the dues (SEK650) tonight and strong-arm Frode to do the same (he is a bit hesitant, wondering if the boats will be ready, but he always is ).

Like I have said earlier in this thread, I'm out. No holidays in this period.
There was the question of other interested F16 sailors from Northern Germany. I havn't heard of other F16's sailors in entire Germany. The AHPC dealer in Hamburg sold two Taipan F16 over one year ago, but they are not interested in sailing regattas.

Ok Holger. I thought perhaps the changing of dates made it easier for you to go. Thanks for letting me know.
Now I'll get to work on the swedes.. There is a 80% chance of seeing a completely new model of F16s there, so perhaps that can lure somebody out

Nope, I am going to be a bastard about it until the event is over. Those who come will see first

Dear all,

If I want to be at the Nordic Week, I have to prepare right now. F16 races will be on Monday and Tuesday (28 / 29 July). I have to leave early on Tuesday, because I have to fly from Hamburg to Bristol in the evening. However I could arrive on Saturday and if somebody else is doing that, we could have some training and fun on Sunday.

Cheers,

Klaus

Klaus,

sadly, there will not be enough boats for a class this year. I am very sorry! I think we need some more boats in scandinavia and no other events further south in europe to make this event viable. It is too bad as it is a very nice place to race and meet.

The new F16 design we might have seen there was the argentinian(?) design we discussed earlier, but that will not happen either.

Don't worry. Now, there is a dealer who sells Vipers in northern Germany. At least one is already sold and raced in Texel. And if you keep on building Blades, we should be able to make it 2009.

Cheers,

Klaus

Rolf,

Any idea if this new model could make it to Wales? If it could make the trip in July, maybe it can also make the trip in August?

Klaus,

Wales is not that that far if you could drive to Sweden or is it?

Sorry, have not visited the site for quite some time. I have never raced before, but I would like to participate. I assume I will learn a lot :-)

Gill,

I have to commit that I don't have a F16, but a Javelin 16 . I will not overstretch the kindness of the F16 community by going to a pure F16 event.

In fact even Belgium is more distant than southern Sweden. It is just a trip of 400km via the bridges or maybe 100km and than the ferry. It seems to be a good place, well centerd around some F16s (and me). Let see what happend next year, maybe 2 or 3 boats from Germany, 1 + x from Norway, obviously 1 + x from Sweden and some (how many?) from Finland...

Cheers,

Klaus
