An episode of a dutch children's public broadcast TV program "Het klokhuis" (The applecore) was devoted to catamaran sailing. I love seeing my tax Euros at work this way

That was really nice. Love the sketch where one man called the "catamaran the most elegant of craft"(approx. translation)

The bottom line is it showed people having fun and going fast (relatively speaking anyway). I hope it rubs off on lots of kids, so we can make it back to the Olympics!

And apparently also by just as many adults without kids !

Don't we all have the dancing girls show up when we rig our boats? That's what I love about cat sailing :-)

I did think they were dressed rather provocatively for a children’s show... but I guess in Europe its not as big a deal.

Also funny is how we watched the whole video regardless of not having a clue what was being said, except those who speak Netherlandian' (yes I know.. dutch)

"Klokhuis" is actually a very cool program and it has been very succesful for what ? 15 years now ?

The internationally acclaimed Klokhuis has just celebrated its 20th anniversary. It's aimed at the 8 to 14 year olds and every episode it presents a subject in an informative and entertaining way. My son is at the lower end of the demographic, he loved the sailing ( just like us dad!) but he could do without the girls, he's convinced the species is a pointless nuissance. The song is quite funny they sing about how they love a boy that can sail well. Unfortunately after a day of hard work on the water he's to tired to pay attention to them. My wife was a bit too quick to recognise the situation, <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

I am slightly abover your sons demographic. I must disagree...girls are not pointless. I do agree, however, that they can be a nuissance!

Great program! Your language is really something special. You have some sounds in it which I dont think I could ever make.
