I heard a rumor you left some "parts" on the water last weekend, or was that Helen?

Not that I blame you! There are times when it is better to stay warm and dry.

If you mean the MachoMan, the Saturday long race had some juicy conditions (again!). Let Dave tell you about that. I heard he stopped in St. Pete to watch the Honda Grand Prix and sign autographs.

Sunday's MiniMacho was an intense drifter with lots of rain, ending with a fierce "white squall". Ding won that half.

In my new-to-me Dart 18, I came in DFL in the B fleet as I had to beach it for an hour when I could make no headway against 30+ on the nose in zero visability. What a little wussy I am!

When he's arguing with you Pete, yes. Yes he is.

W-T-F Pete! You cry like a little girl (I know it's an insult to little girls) about me picking on you then you author a post in an attempt to provoke an attack!

Pete, have you done a distance race yet?

Now here is the Ding we all know and love. You come into my yard, baying at the moon. Now you're foaming at the mouth when I give a little back.

No Dingy, I don't do distance races. But for you, I'll make an exception. 'Round Dry Tortuga and back. When you wanna start?

No parts left on the water... I run a tight boat and all parts of cat and crew remain accounted for.

Check your source of information. Very unreliable at best.

I believe my hand was somewhere on the tiller for this event.

Intuition leads an intelligent person to believe there's a reason for this.

How's the cheap seats this time of year?
Kind of like deep left field bleachers at a Cubs game...

Gifted insight, or intellectual brilliance?

Pete

You can't play with the big dogs if you're too afraid of stepping off the porch.

Jeez, you guys are something else.

One of you should post the 1design stuff over here. I'll bet most people never go there.

In all seriousness, I'd be interested in a single handed, non-stop run out to Tortuga and back.

Time to go to work.

Its about 90 miles to Fort Jefferson from Key West. Along the way you come across some shallows, the Marqueses (sp?) Keys and a *NOODLE*ton of lobster pots. The majority of that trip is 65 miles across blue water, with nowhere to bail out.

Personally Pete, you couldn't handle this trip if the *NOODLE* hit the fan. I don't know if I could but at least I have a good idea of what would be involved. Maybe you should try sailing up some coastline as practice. Pensacola -> Panama City would be a nice warm up. I'm sure theres plenty of places around you that are suitable.

Sorry Pete, but that is just a Coast Guard search and rescue case waiting to happen. The dry tortugas aint a jump in the pond. If we have to hoist you up, sadly there is no room for your boat on the helicopter.
