Now that's what I consider good form, all the way to the end. These dudes look like they're digging for oysters, but still have good sailtrim... <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Takapuna Worlds, one of the back marker AUS teams on a Reg White. We retired from this race after the casing on the tack line parted <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

They saved it too.

That is an example of fine seamanship. I would have probably been separated from the boat long ago in that situation.

How, pray tell, did they end up saving that? Release the sails and hang on the hulls? Doesn't look like they had the ability to steer...

Stay up the back off the bus and she will not cartwheel. They look like they have slid forward, so I think they were very lucky.

FYI, both on the Capricorn and Tornado, we have NEVER cartwheeled if we stay at the back (usually crew on wire with pannic strap) despite burying the bows well past the front beam.

Try harder <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
Even 200Kgs of scared norwegian at the back beam is not enough to hold the big T the right side up if you stick it hard enough.

Try not to slow the boat down when you nose dive <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Yes, this photo shows the water dripping back off the boat as it backs out but I note the sails are all still trimmed.

I stand corrected. The boat in front is the old AUS Regie. The highest placed AUS boat, with the exception of those guys who won, was a Windrush boat.

They did save this. We had a chuckle and a chat about the pic during the Worlds. I would not have believed it if I only viewed that pic.

so was the boat (aus967)in front the windrush boat or the "old reggie"?

Because Rohan & Jack purchased Robbie Lovigs old marstrom.
