Does anyone know the television schedule to see any of the Olympic Tornado coverage? If so, please share.

Thanks, Doug

Did not see any on regular TV just the online coverage. Rick got me to the links from his post.

http://www.nbcolympics.com/tv_and_online_listings/zone=PT/sport=SA/index.html

Check TV Listings and Online Listings on the page. I guess you can get it on your plasma TV from the online coverage if you have the correct hardware. Way beyound my capabilities but watching it on the computer is great.

Is the online coverage only live or are races saved on the site too?

you can watch the coverage again - click the "Rewind" link in race and it will play the footage.

Also note that the only television coverage (so far) is on whatever classes are racing on the "Alpha" circle - the one closest to the harbor.

Peter Reggio (Luigi) is the PRO for the Ynglings and Finns.
PU is the PRO for the 49ers, Stars and Tornados. He had lots of TV time a couple of days ago.
Nino Shmueli (from Israel) is the PRO for the RS:X's and 470's
Ross Wilson (AUS) is the PRO for the Lasers.

For the race management fanatics, Charlie Cook's blog is pretty good reading - Charlie Cook's Blog

And yes, it's the same Charlie Cook that proposed the change in voting procedure at last November's ISAF Meeting that resulted in the multihulls being eliminated from the 2012 Olympics.

Tornados start thursday - if they are on A course you will see the whole race online - if they are not on A course then we will most likey get some very limited coverage.

Good to see Luigi on the RC boat - AC, TP52 Globals, MEDCUP, Olympics, Acura KWRW and on the F18 course at the Seattle NOODs - the guy is everywhere...

I think this olympics has the worst TV coverage I've seen, Phelps is a great swimmer but I don't need to hear about it every time I turn on NBC.

Did they have anything on Dana Torres? I haven't heard, but haven't been following the olympic TV coverage that closely.

Don't really need that much beach volleyball or badmitten in my life...

Don't really need that much beach volleyball

I think women's beach volleyball is the best invention ever (teamed with the bikini).

I could watch that 24-7.

Back to the topic at hand - the Tornados start off their racing tonight on Alpha course (the TV course). Live web coverage starts at 1 AM Eastern time.

Charlie seems to have taken great offense to the fact that a link to his blog was posted on this and other sites. He also states that on some of the sites he has been mis-quoted. So he has posted his final blog or so the site now states.

Or, the IOC has chastised Charlie's public blogging as outside of scope for a responsible Olympic PRO...

I didn't know about it until it was posted on Scuttlebutt - and it was up for several days beyond that (including an update). I think he really got pissed when it showed up on the front page of Sailing Anarchy - without them asking permission. He is no fan of that site.

You sexist PIG! You're not supposed to be entertained by the attire of the competitors or the athletic equipment, only by the pure appreciation of their superior athletic performance! Okay, I've told my wife I've never noticed their bikinis.

Looks like decent breeze - wonder what the hold-up is... [Linked Image]

After 2:00PM there now - watched the parade of little boats being towed back in. Gotta sleep. I'll tape my fingers in the crossed position for some good racing.

It's fake breeze, like in the opening ceremony flag poles.

With all the trouble the Chinese have gone to (amazing new buildings, removing weed, turning off industry to reduce smog etc..., I wonder why they didn't have some barges with giant fans to create some breeze for the sailors!
