I finally had to go see what this was all about. I'm signed up and am running waaaaaaay back in the 20k's. Are the places actually other people's accounts, or just made up numbers? I started and in 20 minutes had moved up 5k places, yet I don't see anyone around me. Can you not see boats that are enrolled in a group?

don't worry about it i started late and got put in at 32000 now i've clawed up to 19000
my wife joined and started 2500 places ahead of me a day and a half later.
( half "Half a Cat" new boat name for mono's) but i digress

There's some 35000 players registered. I'm sure a lot of them dropped out or not playing regularly. I started out around 23000 and passed a boat load of people. (pun intended)

You are just passing the boats that have been abandoned or not tended to regularly. There are literally thosands of wayward boats.

Now that you are in the mid-20K places, it gets harder.

play with your headings a bit. I gained 1/2kn from just a few degrees. The wind is dieing behind me, gotta stay ahead of it!!
