I have a nacra f18. Many times I'm sailing with one of my kids and it's a pita to right the thing after capsizing.

I'd like to hear from somebody who has tried the power pole righting system

I used one on my 18ft Stingray when my kids were small, it worked perfectly and took a lot of the stress away. I just got the kids to climb on the hull in front of the tramp, then I did the power righting bit and they dove onto the tramp as the cat came up so I knew they were on it.

I don't mean to hijack your thread but I've been thinking about a righting pole for my H21. I'm wondering if it would be of much use on a boat that heavy.

The only system that I know of that will right the Hummvee21 is the Solo Right. It's a totally different system yet it does use a pole (sort of). I am relaying this first hand. I had one of those boats and was able to successfully right it solo.

Because its just a lever in theory Ricks righting pole should right anything if you match your weight with length of pole. My Stingray was heavy so the pole stuck 2ft out behind the tramp when retracted. When I used it I was right on the tips of the boards leaning way back, but that gave me the leverege.
Whats a solo right?
