Posts: 2,921 Michigan | Can anyone give me some measurements on their blade? Going to make a cover and my boat is relatively far away (like 1000 miles ) I need the length of the tramp, the distance from the front of the front beam to the stays and the height of the goose neck off the tramp. Distance to the front of the spin hoop from the front beam would be great also. Oh, and length of the boom to where the outhaul comes out. any help would be appreciated. If it comes out well then maybe a class fundraiser can be arranged. I'll volunteer the time. Need something to do anyway... | | | Re: Blade Measurement

Posts: 2,921 Michigan | Thank you guys. I appreciate it. Was going to get on Timbo's case, cause I know his boat is in his backyard goal is a relatively easily removable cover that lasts seasons and covers the tramp/lines for mast up - but easily used for mast down. And, gives me something to sew Pete, BTW.. the height from the bottom of the mast to the gooseneck works.

Posts: 6,049 Sebring, Florida. | Just be sure you get it in writing, that for every new horse she gets, you get a new boat. ($3,000-$20,000+ depending on what you buy)
For every set of horse shoes, (needed every 5 weeks) you get a new trap harness. ($130)
For every Vet visit, you get a new jib. ($500) For every 4 month's feed bill, you get a new spinnaker, and a new main at the end of the year. ($1,000)
That is the price equivelent for 1 horse. We have 5. And remember, somebody has to stay home and feed it twice a day, and clean the poop out of the stall, twice a day, that's why my wife has never left Sebring, in 11 years with free Delta Air Lines travel available, ever since we built a barn and started keeping them on site instead of paying board. Or, you could board it out, and pay between $350-500/mo. depending on where you board.
If we didn't have -any- horses, I'd be sailing a Gunboat 62 in St. Maarten. That is the price equivelent of owning and showing horses for the past 15 years.
Still want a horse? Remember, one leads to two, leads to 4, etc...Oh, and like kids, as soon as she gets one, you will go to the -bottom- of the pecking order, as in, it/they are much more important to her than you, you just get to write the checks.
Good luck.

Posts: 72 Florida, USA | Wah, wah, Tim. Cry me a river. Dude, she still likes you doesn't she? At least you got that going for you. Four healthy kids, 5 healthy horses and a fun catamaran? Life looks pretty good from this side of the fence. I'd like to own a horse, but Matt would divorce me.

Posts: 6,049 Sebring, Florida. | Phill, maybe you/she could sell the quilts, if her skills at quilts are like yours at boats! We up here would love to have a hand made quilt from "down under"!
Gina, any time you want a horse, come on down, we will get you on one and maybe you can take it home. OR, maybe Matt and I can live together (after the dual divorces) and you can live here with my wife and the horses!

Posts: 6,049 Sebring, Florida. | Thanks for that offer Phill. Delta is supposed to begin service from Los Angeles to Sydney sometime in June '09. I will try to get a trip there. I know it will go very senior, and I'm junior on the 777 so it will take some "horse trading" to pull one for me, but I will certainly try! And I've got horses to trade...

I'd love to "come on down" and take a ride. As for livin' with Matt, it takes a special kind of talent to handle that. I'm not sure your up for the job, my friend.

Posts: 6,049 Sebring, Florida. | Dermot, I hope you were kidding, you know I love the homeland! But unfortunately, Delta doesn't fly the 777's there, it's "too close" to the US. They like to send the 777's as far as they will go, and that means half way 'round the world most of the time. Right now, our -shortest- trip is Atlanta to Tel Aviv. When we pass overhead Dublin we are only half way there.
I am hoping we lose a motor (but only 1 please) over the north Atlantic because our usual divert base is Dublin! So I might get back there some day. Maybe once the kids are out of college I will be able to afford to bid back to the 767 which does fly to Dublin daily. And boy do I miss it! I'm still thinking of getting that Irish passport.
