Sorry Tom, I just very quickly skimmed over the posts. My reaction was more a knee jerk to Wout really dissecting the numbers. Not fair to do it when there was no wind on Saturday. I will go out on a limb and state that I hate the F17 DPN, and admire where the F16 is going and respect the number. Just curious, what happens if you crunch race 3,4,5 between Olsen, Leonard, Adams, and Humphries? I think that would mean something. Can you do that Wouter?

Yeah well, I too wrote something like :"All in good fun of course. Jim sailed an excellent race ..."
They way I see it, everybody got the same risk to get a hole and a taller mast and more sailarea is not going to hurt in those conditions, so if boat was favored then it was the NF17. Of course, I was ONLY looking to see whether the NF17 handicap number helped Jim L. alot. The data presented show that he did get corrected out to higher places in most cases. Note however, that I didn't pass judgement on that and left it to the personal intepretation of the forum readers.

I'm sure it is within my capabilities but I'm not sure what you exactly mean. Can you elaborate.
Wouter

Again everybody, the ordering from top to bottom is on ELAPSED time results (and we are doing this just for fun and not to put down anyone or any design).
If Jim was score on the Texel handicap then he would have gotten respectively
Race 3 : 2nd (corr. 19:03) only 1 second in front of Adams; and gaining a spot Race 4 : 3rd (corr. 20:45) 25 sec to slow to catch Humpries who is 1 spot in front of him; gaining no spot Race 5 : 3rd (corr. 17:34) 11 sec to slow to catch more then 1 place and correct out to 2nd
Thanks Wouter, I'm driving on I-10 about an hour out of OSYC. It's hard enough to type, drive and tow a boat at night, much less try to read the attachment. I'll check it out in the morning. Yes Ollie and Andy will be here, have not heard from Chris. Because of the expected conditions, there is talk of racing to 12 and back to start/finish. Tom, does anybody know? besides Andy and Ollie?
