Here is an update with what is going on with the Cubu Run.
Cuba Run 2010 Race Rules
and everything else here.
Does anybody know anything about logistics on little things like . . . support boats, beach wheels at Hemingway's, lodging, etc.??

I read through the entire website and found a few things interesting, like this. . .
Quote
The fleet will sail into the Hemingway Marina and clear Cuban Customs and Immigration prior to pulling the boats out of the water. quote source.

How? Inquiring minds . . . This sounds very difficult to do with our boats if they really mean to clear customs on the water.

If the organizers are already in Cuba, they could coordinate the process. I would think you set up a RIB or similiar to meet the boats in the marina, tie along side like you are rafting up and take care of business. I would think this would be much more difficult if done outside of the marina in open water. I'm sure the organizers (on both sides) are much smarter than I... ;-)

Of course if they pay my way over, I could expidite the process for them.

This is a historical race for me! Let's me trace the steps of my grandfather. Back in the old days my Grandfather use to take people from Pier 5 in Miami (now the bay front area) to the casinos in Cuba then fish all day long. Clean the boat up and bring the people back to Miami then sell or eat the fish. That was his retirement plan in his late 40’s. It gave him a reason to go out fishing, just about his favorite thing to do. Pretty cool lasted about 5 years until he met an untimely death on land being a Good Samaritan.
