History Channel is doing a investigation report on sea monsters around Palm Beach Inlet/Lake Worth area.

Looks like a Manattee that mated with an aligator...

Last time I was on the beach sleeping they started to throw water on me and rolled me out to the surf and tied a rope on me. I still have a rope burn on my leg from when they were towing me to the gulf. A lady with thick New York accent was yelling orders to everybody, "Keep it wet".

Seroiusly, I saw the episode and the footage that the guy got. He got footage on several occasions. It was really incredible. I hope they can give us some more info on these things. They do looke allot like Manatees but larger and the Trident tail (wich was in the footage) was really creepy. One marine biologist speculates they are Pinnepeds (seal family), which Manatees are not. The longer snout was a bit odd as well.

Where is that place any way? The incredible part is that in foklore, there is a legend that describes that EXACT beast with the trident shaped tail and long snout with teeth (although from the footage I think it was a little exagerated) along the Florida and Georgia coast and inland waters. They show them attacking boats but I suspect it may have been from them getting a harpoon in the ribs.

hahah.... perhaps you shouldn't wear your "creature from the black lagoon" outfit when you nap on the beach?

Very Old(Think new world old) charts show them pictured off of the east Coast alot.

On a different note.
I heard of a sea monster off of the Texas city dike that tries to steal your laundry. They say it looks more like a Turtle than a manatee though.

Looks like they were diving in the inlet, around peanut island and the Munion Islands. I could see the smoke stacks from the power plant in a couple of shots (Peanut Island), the inlet pump house (Palm Beach Inlet) and the new condo next to mine (Munion Islands).

There is a deep hole in the lake on the South side of the island. It is deep, blue and water always swirls around it. I ran over something one day when I was out sailing by myself while crossing the hole.

My wife used to say she saw manatees near the shore between us and little Munion. I sailed there one day to prove her wrong and the water was only one foot with a few more feet of mud. Maybee it was the sea monster.

Todd,
I spoke with Cat the other day. She said the box was still sitting on the kitchen table. She mailed it. Should be there by now. You know Turtle has a really busy schedule, right? You don't hang on to a name like Turtle for 20 years by being efficient.

Craig,
We were gonna take a whack at it night before last, but were shy some of the ingredients so we bailed. I can't imagine it'll even come close to yours when we get it all together, though.
