I quickly put together a rough google earth sketch of the course layout from Philip's description just so viewers at home can get a feel for the terrain. You can also see the sail required to get out to the Gulf from the beach.

are they all rafting up at that bar before the bridge to switch from A to B fleets? That would be convenient.

I think the boat exchange is on the Gulf beach at Sand Key Park.

Wind on course 10.5 to 12 knots.
A mark direction is 065, at committee its 090.

i had heard the Sheridan Hotel at Sand Key was allowing them some beach access... this is not verified but the source was pretty good.

Last time the event was there we used the Sherton Beach for change overs, but sailed the boats back to the Clearwater Sailing Center each evening.

A couple of times at or slightly after dusk!!!
