Yes, indeed. The Grinch stole Christmas. Or, at least that's how the story goes from one or Dr. Seus' books. You see, the Grinch didn't like the whos in whoville having such a good time at Christmas. So, he plotted and plotted to see how he could steal Christmas away from them. And, in the dark of night, he went from each who house, and stole everything in sight. Then he went high on a hill and waited for the light of day, and strained to hear the cries from the whos, who had nothing for Christmas. Instead, from a high perch, the Grinch heard the sounds of singing. And from the valley below, the voices became louder and louder, and became more and more cheerful. "How could this be?" Puzzled the Grinch. "They have no toys. They have no presents. They have no green eggs and ham. How dare they be so happy?" Something the Grinch hadn't counted on, was the whos' hearts. Christmas wasn't about the presents. Nor was it about the toys. Nor was it about the green eggs and ham. It was about a feeling. Something the Grinch himself didn't have. Well, you know the rest of the story. Or do we? The Grinch once again has tried to steal away our Christmas. He is sitting there with a big smug smile on his face, thinking how he has devastated our country by stealing away our lives with his dark plots. But, he hasn't counted on our hearts. And, he hasn't counted on our resolve. Be careful Mr. Grinch. Christmas just might come after all!

Rick Smith
