Hi Andreas
Thanks for posting this ,--its very inspiring .
What a great challenge and potential race .
Recall meeting the original TransAtlantic sailor with the 86 record sailing across the pond {Atlantic} on the Hobie 18 , he attended the Hobie 18 World championships in 87 held in Toronto .
They were in very bad condition and were hospitalized but made it .The stories of the crossing were very interesting.
The team attempting it next year should join in the Tybee-Atlantic 1000 race in May ,- can't imagine a better training ground or experience to prepare for the Atlantic crossing.

Some catamaran sailors would like to see an open 20 development class catamaran category for similar innovative design in the Tybee Atlantic 1000 in future years along with Formula Classes in all length categories .
Many of us would enjoy attempting to race {across the pond} in a challenge race per limits of 20 ft L sailing craft .
It is a beautifull advanced design and hope it is very successfull-
It opens up some interesting design ideas and concepts for discussion ,-maybe for the cad designers thread.
If an average 9.25 speed can be achieved the 5000 km or approx 3100 miles could be sailed in under 14 days .If about 13 under 10 days!
