My brother and I are getting ready to go on a 3 day cruise of sorts on our 16. At night we'll be stopping at various places to sleep. Does anybody know of a way to carry T-trax on a 16? We tied them across the front pontoon to the pylons and found that they really slowed us down b/c they kept hitting the water. We also tried putting them on top of the tramp by the jib blocks, but they just took up too much space and made tacking near impossible. Any ideas???

You might try something different that is easier to carry on the boat. We created a "slide" for the 21 Sport Cruiser, just for this use. Remote beaching. The slide is like a rope ladder. The rungs are pvc or better yet, polyethelyne pipes about 1 1/4" in diameter and about 1 1/2 feet wide. The "slides" were about 3/4 the length of the boat with the rungs spaced about 2 feet apart. The "rope ladders" were attached to a strip of tramp material so the material would be down on the sand to help prevent the pipes from sinking into the sand. They were attached by running line through the pipe rungs. We put grommets into the tramp material, cut the line a bit longer than the width of the slide. Pass the line through the first grommet and tie a stop knot in the end. Pass the line through the pipe and through the grommet on the other side... tie another stop knot. This secures each rung to the slide.

You can roll the slides out in front of each hull and into the water if needed. You can easily slide the boat up the beach and repeat the process a few times to move it higher up the beach if needed, pulling the slides out from behind the boat and placing in front of the hulls again.

We were moving the Sport Cruiser (650 lbs) easily with a guy and a girl.

The slides would store on the tramp in a small bundle.
