I have been working on that since we installed this program and cannot get it to work. If you do, let me know how you did it.
Rick

Rick White
Catamaran Sailor Magazine
email: rick@catsailor.com
Go to the post TEST and open it. There on the leftsideline you see in small print attachment. Click on this and you'll see the ISAFhandicap rating list.

SO it can be done it you read the FAQ carefully.

I'll tell you the solution is a day or so. =)

Wouter

Huhh, I've tried again and I do get it to pop up.

Strange, I've seen something like this on the Formula forum too. Probably when I log off and on I won't be able to get it to pop up too. Maybe a cache thing ?

I will to experiment with it some more.

Wouter

Ditto. By the way, there's not much info in the FAQ. I've been dying to attach this pic to my messages, but having read the info, I guess it needs to be on the web somewhere.

Now I get a error message too, humm (nm)

Just go to the FAQ and the markup I think is and it will appear in the body of the message.
Rick

Seems I yelled to soon, I can only get it too work for one session and only with my own posts. After I log off the web and log on again and go to the same post I get the same error message as you.

This baffles me a bit. looks like the link is getting fouled up and caching masks this when your still in the same session.

Well, I'm to tired now and have too much work to do the coming days to really look at it. Sorry.

Wouter

It's a browser issue

It's the browser. Netscape doesn't work, Internet Explorer does. At least on my machine, that's the case.

Hobie 20 #541
Bald Eagle Yacht Club, Fleet 52
White Bear Lake, MN

Rick,

That's not what Al is asking. He wants to post a picture that exists on his hard drive, not on the web. Perhaps that's not possible, but it seems like it should be.

Fair winds,

Tim J.

Hobie 20 #541
Bald Eagle Yacht Club, Fleet 52
White Bear Lake, MN

try this:
\image{Text description}
Upon posting, you are prompted for an image file to upload. Images
must be either GIF or JPEG format. Images must be saved on your
hard disk. Your browser must support form-based file upload
(Netscape Navigator 2.0+ and Internet Explorer 4.0+ support this; IE
3.02 will also work provided that you have installed the file upload

\image{cat photo}

Edited by Steven Bellavia on 11/21/01 08:54 AM.

Steven,

I think I did all that, and it still doesn't work. I did post with jpeg. Why don't you give it a try, and show us that posting an image works. I'd love to see someone be successful at this.

Thanks,

Tim

Hobie 20 #541
Bald Eagle Yacht Club, Fleet 52
White Bear Lake, MN

Alutz...on my other post (2 up) certainly has a handle on what to do. If we can get him to give us a "detailed" breakdown, I think we'll have a valuable tool for this forum.
Dave

Dave,

Alutz is using a URL to attach his picture. I don't think anyone here has ever doubted that method of posting pictures. The question is how to upload a picture from your own hard drive, and get it to display. That's what I'm interested in figuring out, anyway. In his post he uses a URL, at least if I'm finding the post you're referring me to.

Fair winds,

Tim J.

Hobie 20 #541
Bald Eagle Yacht Club, Fleet 52
White Bear Lake, MN

I wonder if Rick's server can handle the load of storing hundereds of jpegs. Would that slow down the server's response time to queries to the forum? Perhaps this forum disallows what you desire for a good reason.
Greg
H14,H16

Good question. If that is the case, Rick obviously doesn't realize it, as he says himself that he's been trying to get it to work for a while.

Tim J.

Hobie 20 #541
Bald Eagle Yacht Club, Fleet 52
White Bear Lake, MN
