Mike,

I applaud you for the trailer. I am envious, jealous, or whatever is the appropriate word for the fact that you did this project as a Father-Son venture!

I will point out that the "Dobbs Tilt Trailer" design is different than MauganH17's concept. I do think that the the Dobbs's's trailer is an elegant solution to many of the challenges presented to the wide catamaran sailor who needs to travel and launch a wider than 'leagally trailerable' catamaran.

It is very impressive that the golf course is close to the launch ramp. Has the club expressed any disdain in your using one of their golf carts to move your trailer around?

I love the Dobbs' Trailer and and am very impressed by your and your father's efforts and accomplishments. If and when I get a Tornado, I will certainly gravitate towards the Dobbs' Trailer design.

Hi Mike,

Those Beckerbuilt trailers look good.
I mentioned the Texas Trailers because ther is a dealer near me and I have seen them in person.

I discovered the "snowmobile trailer" design while searching on ebay.
We don't have many snowmobiles in central North Carolina.
I was really impressed with the enclosed versions with the V-nose and front door/ramp.
They give a lot of storage capacity, but aren't half as heavy as a car carrier of the same size.

The only thing I don't like about the snowmobile trailers is that you are limited to the smaller tire sizes.
I want tall tires for highways and soft sand.

So far, they haven't noticed the golf cart is missing!

BTW, looks lie we will not be racing at the ABYC OCR this weekend. They have basically told us we are not welcome unless we get more boats. Pity, I was looking forward to a series of match races against Chris on his Tornado.

As a consellation prize, I'm planning to tow the boat to CBYC Saturaday morning and spend the weekend two boat tuning with Chris. You are more than welcome to drop by to shoot the breeze/check out the tilt trailer etc. More than likely, will not be ready to launch much before noon.

Mike.

Mike,

Do you have crew? I was considering showing up to crew for Chris.

Let's get some gps tracks recorded.

Did you know the forecast calls for rain, both days?

You will find an excellent trailer for the A cat on the following web-site.

www.acatsnw.com

This is the site that was formed from the group up in the Seattle/ Portland area, and most had to build/ modify existing trailers...

Hope this helps
