Posts: 503 | "Do you plan on having Dinosaurs in your Dinosaur Park", Brian ? Is there something I am missing with the ongoing live broadcasting. Your on Race 3 and there is a snippet from 2000yds of race one. Instruction say sign up to recieve the broadcasts, is that when you get the full live show ? Sorry did not quite get it! Im sorry, Im not quite sure what you mean. What do you mean by Im on Race 3? What instructions say you have so sign up? You should not have to sign up for anything, the site is free to watch, thanks to the sponsors. As far as full live show we are updating the Blog as often as possible, adding pictures, and editing and loading video as often as we can. Remember, we have to get the tapes from the water, capture them, edit them, compress them for the web, then upload them. It takes time. I hope you weren't expecting to see the boats realtime as they sail around the water. That would be much, much, more more expensive to do. Right now we are just trying to convince sponsors that catsailing is worth watching, and worth sponsoring, with this event. Do you have any idea how much work went into putting on this level of coverage? Maybe Im a bit tired, but how do you expect catamaran sailing to get sponsors, to be broadcast, if the catsailors themselves are not behind it? Just a thought. | | | Re: F18 North Americans Under Way!

Sail numbers and all. Yes, I am alright. Lots of swelling and bruising but nothing is broken. Watch the webcast site for upcoming interview. Tracie | | | Re: F18 North Americans Under Way!

Posts: 1,226 Atlanta | Tracie, First, I am glad you werent hurt, it looks like it got pretty nasty out there.
Secondly, I agree with DYSC, the website sucks.
The banner says "live broadcast." You are posting short clips of video after the fact, with music played over it. Thats not a live broadcast. Its a commercial.
The whole website is one big ad, with little content. And yeah, we get it, Reynolds is a sponsor.
The "more video" link takes you to adventure TV's website - confusing, it should be labeled "Adventure TV."
The navigation is terrible, confusing and poorly laid out. I especially hate the layout of the blog. The navigation is what prompted me to write this in the first place.
How about posting the results at the end of the day - after the protests are done? Or the next morning. I dont mean a list of the leaders, but the results from each race, for all 38 teams, for each day. You got them, why not post them?
Dont give me the "its alot of work to put on one of these events whine," we can see from the website you got plenty of sponsors, its not like you are putting this thing on by yourself. And not accuse me of being negative, its all about expectations, you set a certain expectation and then didnt meet them. I mean, I was impressed with the "pre-event" interviews , thats a nice idea, but then once the thing gets going, it all grinds to a halt. If you hadnt hyped the coverage so much, we wouldnt be complaining.
Even you response to DYSC mentions "webcast team", you got a team working on this and all that gets posted one sentance blog entries and 30 seconds of video from the day before? Lame.
I'm sure the event is great, thats not what DYSC was complaining about, he was complaining about the website.

Posts: 12,310 South Carolina | WHAT in the WORLD do you guys have in your butts!? Geeesh...get a life. Yep, there are sponsors but their cash sponsorships are paying R/C boats, fuel, lodging for officials, transportation for some officials, regatta meals, awards...the list goes on and on. I'm really disapointed in the attitudes you guys are showing here. The Adventure.tv guys are busting their tails (it's two / three people!) trying to get all this put together. Have you ever tried to edit a video, get a wireless camera working, get a waterproof camera on a boat and recording without getting it wet or starting the tape to early before the race starts? This is cutting edge stuff and it will only get better. NOBODY has ever provided coverage of a catamaran (or any sailing) regatta even remotely close to what Brian and his crew are doing now...and it is going to get better through the week.
