Awesome to hear the Youth champs are going to be during the summer. Hopefully this will mean more Youths will attend!
Did someone finally figure out that youths have school during months like September or was there an issue with having it in RI with the regular NA's?
I always wanted to go to a youth NA's but every year they were while school was in session.

We're experiencing the same situation with college aged Youth. We want to go to the NA's in October, but my son/crew is in College and it would be a major risk for him to miss an entire week of school. As a matter of fact, our major basis is building our fleet around Youth. I realize the notion of having the championships at the end of the season but maybe we can influence some consideration for having future NA events at the end of the "school year" summer, say every three or four years. Seems like there are a lot of Youth/Adult mixed crews to warrant at least a thought.

There won't be more youth attending these regattas unless they offer some options for sailors who can't bring their own boats. There are plenty of teams that would attend, but because no alternative is offered (at least not at the Youth North Americans in July) to trailering a boat up to Sandy Hook, many youth teams have been forced to put aside the option of sailing the regatta at all.

I agree, this year will be my first Youth NA, and Im in a bit of a pickle to try to get my used H16 into class-legal shape, get rid of furler, double trap, new mast...etc...it would be nice to "borrow" a new boat from Hobie for the event.
