Posts: 12,310 South Carolina | I expect a call in a little while to find out (I'm not there). It's very warm (low 80's) and breezy right now (10-15...maybe more on the lake) - it's a little odd to have it so incredibly warm AND breezy this time of year but it looks like this is set to repeat all weekend. It was light earlier this afternoon but picked up at about 1pm. I'll update as soon as I hear anything.
I'm going out in a powerboat to the race course tomorrow - will get some pics.

Posts: 12,310 South Carolina | 3 races in today - they just got off the water. 10-15 with some higher gusts. I20's, F17's, F18's in one start...not sure if there was a different course or different start for the other boats. 18 F18s on the line. Alex and Nigel scored with three bullets on the new Nacra leaving the rest to duke it out for 2nd down. Mike Krantz and David Lennard scored (I think) a 2, 4, 4 on the older Nacra. No details yet on the rest of the racing.

Posts: 12,310 South Carolina | back to the racing.... The temperature was in the upper 80's and the breeze 10-15 with some gusts today. I was following some of the action from a chase boat and took over 160 pictures. In the F18 fleet, Nigel and Alex took another three bullets (there were at least 3 races today...maybe 4) and Mark Smith was consistantly leading the I20 fleet until a rudder broke while sailing upwind. They had one general recall today but most of the starts were very clean. One Isotope lost his rig and there were a few capsizes. Pictures available from www.teamseacats.com

Doug That's a Formula 14 rig. Actually, it's smaller than maximum allowable on an F14, but as big as you'd want on a H14. It carries a roller-furling reacher that can be used down-wind, and even upwind in very light airs. Last year light air prevailed and the H14s did very well agaist the Mystere 4.3s. Often times they seemed to be the only things moving around on the lake.

Unregistered | I am getting a Mystere 4.3 at Slip to Ship. Don't know f the Formula 14 or sailing much in Div 6 yet? Maybe i will make it to Spring Fever next year? Who knows. Look forward to learning spinnaker on this little boat and teaching Ashleigh (grand daughter in old avatar photo with me) she is 12 now to helm. Doug Where is the bad link? ... oh I got it...fixed. Large photos are there too - click on "all sizes" and you can download the big versions. P.S. I used to get all upset when the photographer wouldn't keep the horizon level...but that's a PITA trying to keep the camera still while moving on a 16' power boat!
