Tim, I know you are already interested in a F16 but you can just add another plus to the pro and con list of the F16's
Both the Taipan and Blade F16's use a different daggerboard setup then the nacra's, hobies and what not else in beach catamaran brands.
Taipan and Blade use a box like top section of the daggerboard that is only profiled into a foils shape on the part that sticks out below the keel line. When fully hoisted the sharp trailing egde won't extend above the deck either.
The trailing edge of the daggerboard that can stick out above the deck when the boards are fully hoisted is a circular section of 20 mm thick (=4/5 of an inch). Try cutting yourself open on that !
I hate to say it, but this is another thing that is just done right on F16's !
Take a look at the F16 daggerboards next you get the chance. They will allow you to go sailing barefooted again !
