Rick and Mary:

It ROCKS now. But the instant Gremlins don't work. And can we get the new post hightlighted like before?

Much, much better (speed wise).

Not so sure about the 'improvements' though - time will tell. Perhaps it will 'grow on me'. Disappointed to lose the number of new threads showing on the index though......

Well done for a smooth transition, 9 out of 10! I'd give you a smiley but the Graemlins don't work! - make that 8 out of 10.

I see that several others have lost functionality as well. No highlighted new posts, no new posts/threads numbers in the main index.
And the Gremlins don't work. But we do have a new colour scheme. I would personally have prefered it the other way around.

Search functionality is completely shot.

No matter what you do you get :

The specified date range is too wide. The maximum date range you can search with is .

I tried to search between 1 day and 3 days. But it gave the same message for all data.

wow, talk about nice and fast. The color scheme will have to grow on to me.

I don't understand what you mean about the color scheme. Mine stayed the same as it was on the old forum, but in your "My Home" you can select any color scheme you want.

No Mary,
Colours definitely changed on both my home and office machines...

At home I now have an interesting pastel pink and sort of yellow ochre with navy lines colour scheme whereas at the office I'm now looking at a rather smart navy/silver/orange and yellow scheme.

Interestingly, both my original schemes weren't much different from each other - I think I had silver at the office where I had light blue at home.

But you're right, we can always change our preferences...... unless I decide to keep the rather fetching pastel pink .

Edit: Hey! I just got a smiley up by typing semi-colon, bracket!!!

As others have said, new post highlight does not work.
Is there a way to incorporate a "new post" button? Out of all the forums I am active on, this is the only one with it.

As far as the colors go, I usually leave mine in the default color scheme. And YES Mary the default color scheme did change. [Linked Image]

Some tweaks are required with the new upgrade. The template themes were modified and I will work with Rick and Mary to get the colors the way they would like them. I am not sure why the Graemlins are not working. I am showing a javascript error on the post page. You can search for a date range within 1 month. Attachemnts are working now. When you list the different threads, it will put the total number of unread messages in RED within (#).

What we are talking about is when you went to a forum, the new post were in a darker highlighted color. Now you have to check by date. Also I have to login every time. It will not remember me. Other than that and the Graelblims it is fine.

When there are new posts or unread posts, the icon at far left of the thread is yellow. Doesn't that accomplish the same thing as highlighting the subject line?

I would rather have that icon turn red, though, because there are so many yellow icons all over the place, and it does not stand out enough.

Now that the numbers for unread threads/messages are back, it does not matter much if the line is highlited. In my opinion..

I must say, Chad have sorted issues examplary so far!

Mary,

I seen this work about two times. The other times this doesn't work as all icons are white. Also last night I saw the red numbers (new post) in the main index page. Never saw them again since or before. This I I can tell that alot of new posts were added.

Personally I prefer the green bar that high lights the new posts as per old forum. The little folders in front are just too small to make new post scanning comfortable.

When I try to hit the "URL" button I get "Error on Page" at the bottom when replying. I get the same thing for any of the buttons. "Email", "Image", ....

What is a "URL button"? <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

I also don't have any "buttons" for e-mail or image. What are those?

Are you sure you are on the same forum as I am?

The URL and other links are now working. This was related to the problem that was happeing with the instant graemlins not working.

This is an example of the URL: Mississippi.com Web Site

Just try clicking on them and seeing what they do. Should be easy now that they work. <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Sorry, Mike, I just found them in the reply window. I never noticed them before.

I still can't tell the new posts from the old ones. All of my little folders are still white.

I'm now remembering the dates and times of post I last checked and scan which posts are newer. Pretty uncomfortable.

Is the new post feature working with everyone else ?

Yes it is working for me. The folders have colors, I have the red numbers indicating amount of new posts AND the "jump to first unread post" is working for me.

Using IE6 sp1 on a Win2k system.

Al
