A small comment to the results; there are some faults in the results, I know that in the open klasse > 105 this person had a DNC (21 03 Nacra 570 956 Broek vd Broek vd 107 DNC 23.0 23.0 Catclub Zeeland ) but he did register and sail. He send an e-mail to wouter.visser@hellecat.nl and they found out that they forgot him, but luckely he was on the finishing lists of the contraship at the finishline so his result will be corrected.(he became 102 overall)

Maybe if you all want to know for sure, sent him wouter.visser@hellecat.nl an e-mail and ask about those results.

Hi All,

About the finishing of Bart, when you look at finishing list you see a F18 with the same sail number 534 on place 93 and this is close to Geert and when Geert is saying that he is sure that Bart was in front of him this must be a mistake by the finish crew who is noticing all the numbers.
The strange thing is only that there are 2 boats with the same number because i had to stick an extra number in the sail.

Best regards,

Hans Klok

Geert do you have a GPS logging of this race ?

Would love to see it with the speed graph underneath.

Maybe you can place a screen dump in a post ?

Paul,

Do you have some more pictures of the event ?

Maybe we can make a website gallery out of it.

A colleague of someone of our catclub was at the event and was allowed to come with one of the support/rescue boats.
He took 600 photo's that day, they will come out soon, so hopefully some of you will be in the picture!

Sh!t !

I've seen that boat and the guy with the camera. They would have blinded me with the flash light, they were that close (that is if they used one). So I guess there will be a few close-ups of my boat being on it ear with me sitting on the hull !

There is no hiding the fact that I flipped it now ! There is photographic proof.

Coen, do you know where these pictures will be posted ?

As soon as I know you will know.

I only have one more. After such a rush to get to the event from the ferry, we then managed to get the boat off the trailer and ready to sail in under 45 minutes, so i just quickly grabbed the camera for a couple of photos (you can tell that I was still a bit stressed by the fact that the camera isn't even nearly straight). Then I found out about the half hour delay...

There are photos from previous years up at http://www.photoos.net/cgi-bin/phts.sh/b/bevewindex.p?bevec=rot06&xmlac=en. Maybe these are from the same photographer as was there on Saturday.

Just called Bard, told me he finished between 0.5 and 1 minute in front of me. So it's just an error in the results.

Ragbak, you must have seen us, (did see you) you finished one minute ahead of me, so almost at the same time as Bard.

About Gps logs, sorry not this time. If you're interested, we averaged 12.3 knots, the fastest one (M20 GTI) 16 knots.
Quite fast, about the same as Texel 2005, on a Tornado.

The shortest distance is about 52 Kilometre, according Google earth. Nice tool by the way for checking distances.

And we have photo proof of this as well :

Go to :

http://f16.beasts.org/gallery2/main.php?...navId=x8416ebd0

And notice the last 3 photo's in the series. On the bottom left you can see Bard and Lonneke cross the finish line (file name = img_7248.jpg) and on the bottom right you can see Geert and Karin come in (file name = img_7256.jpg). Going on the filenames; Geert/karin appear to come in 7 photographs later.

And here we have our (F16 class) winners just before they set off from the beach. Their Stealth F16 full afloat.

Can you send me all three of the full resolution pics. I can then add them to my F16 picture archive and add them to the online gallery.

I fully understand you were pressed for time on the beach. I had to rig my boat alone and I was only there 30 min before you. Actually I had just finished when I walked over to you to ask if you needed anymore help. You said you were about finished as well. Still you managed to get some pictures while my camera never left the bag.

Hi you F-16 racers,
why don't you ask RTG to name you as a class and give you separate prizes? Tornado class: 6 boats, Dart 18 class: 6 boats. There were even more boats in your class at this event!
Sure we would miss you in the open classes!

greetz,
Arend

on this photo you can see nr 534 over the finishline and behind them is a nacra 570 with a black and orange mainsail that is this person (46 03 Nacra 570 911 Landa Mes 107 2:21:01 2:11:47 46.5 Catclub Zeeland).
So the finishing time of nr 534 (Louis/Stark) can't be more than just a few seconds behind that 2:11:47
therefore it is like Hans wrote before just a mix up with the other nr 534 ( 94 10 F18 Nacra 534 Krabbe Tanis 101 2:20:57 2:19:33 94.0 )

If you want the results to be corrected mail to wouter.visser@hellecat.nl
They corrected the results already for someone who had a DNC, he is now 104th

I think AREND 555 is has a good point, because there are always a few Dart 18 sailors who can't win in there own class they register in the open class >105 so they always win(spoil it for the rest)
although we are in the open class < 105 (mainly) a separate F16 class would be better next year.
Or am I completely wrong in this?

Hey Arend,

Was that you who flipped right on the finish line ? Looked like a very nice pitch-n-capsize roll to me ! I was sailing right behind you and saw the whole thing !

I'm sure you were exhausted by that time. 2 hours and 40 minutes of beam reaching.

So who is going to cover this ? Who is going to e-mail Wouter Visser ?

Does Bard know of this error ? Probably best if he approaches them.

Or shall we let it rest ?

When I went through the photographs I noticed something very interesting.

It appears that all the dutch Marstrom M20 have all been retro fitted with jibs.

Especially in the pictures of Raymon de Kruijff :

http://www.hellecat.nl/opkoers/rtg2006foto/index.html

So can see alot of examples of jibbed M20's.

Apparently some other sailors have discovered that jibs do work on catamarans.

They came up with the idea when they snapped their rig at Texel last year, the briddle foil is an old mast section.
Also notice how the jib has been reinforced to allow the mast to rotate freely.
