Isn't there an easier way to get the comptip off than doing a tractorpull?

Once you get the comptip off, what do you do with it?

A little heat with a propane torch to the aluminum section of the mast while under load of a truck and a tree while tapping with a rubber mallet helps release the comptip.
It's fun when the let go all at once. POP!

At this years 18/20 Nationals. During the first or second day of racing, the comptip broke on the borrowed (doh!) mast of Brent Ellis and Clint Pecks 18.

Brent and Clint paid homage by sacrificing the broken unit to "the comp-tip god" at Wednesday nights beach bon-fire, praying for no more expensive mishaps for the remainder of the event.

Anyone got a "dead" hull (or part of a hull) near Naples, FL? I would like to practice some gelcoat techniques if I ever get spare time...

1/2 of a H-16 hull should do it....
