I don't think I would ever buy an A cat for the simple reason that if I wanted to sail alone I would do it on a windsurfer, much "better bang for the buck ratio".

That said sailing with a freind beats the sad and lonely experience that is windsurfing hands down. And you don't get the feeling of the power of the wind on a windsurfer that you get on a cat.
