It seems that the teamof Casey/Williams is pretty dominant in this year's Alter Cup. If not for their 4th place, they were on a streak towards total domination, ie all 1st places. They can still post all first, after the throwout.

I have a question for the forum:

Has any team ever won every race?

With past winners like Randy Smyth and Carlton Tucker, it would seem that it could be possible.

Is there a website to check out for results of previous Alter Cups?

Another question:

Has there ever been a tie score in the Alter Cup?

Thanks!

The link was excellent. Is there a link for the results, etc before 1999? The History of the Alter Cup section starts with 1999.

I see that Matt Struble and WF Oliver won all the races in the Alter Cup in 2002/2003. In fact, Matt Struble won his third straight Alter Cup at that event. That was quite a team, with two top skippers on the same boat. The photo coverage was excellent at the website.

Head to head Matt Struble beat Randy Smyth in the 2000/2001 Alter Cup. Did they race against each other in any other Alter Cups? I read that Matt Struble has moved on to DN Iceboats and won both the World and National Championships this year. Too bad Matt is not racing in this year's Alter Cup! With the right crew, he would be my pick-HANDS DOWN.

Any comments?

I see that there were also two straight scoring ties, broken by tie-breakers from 1999 to last year.
