Bouy FL R 2.5S at the tip of Fort Pickens is located at N30.32836 W87.30329. This is the very tip of the point you round entering Pensacola Bay. You can scoot under this bouy but it gets shallow quickly. See attached jpeg
oops, it is with us roads and recreation, but metroguide has the navaids too. their bluecharts also have them with soundings and contours. i have both and they work great.
Now if Isadore would cooperate! Doesn't look that good this a.m. for a trek from the Houston/Galveston area. I-10 would be really full of people getting out of harms way, winds, etc.
May not be going now unless they change the date.

yeah - It's Garmin's mapsource: "Roads and Recreation". I can't say enough good things about it although I wish the software had more route planning function that comes with some of the other Garmin software. It communicates directly with all the Garmin GPS units.

It does look dicey but the rate of travel of the storm has been accelerated drastically. They are predicting landfall in 48 hours (Thursday) so it may clear out in time leaving only a large swell (for which the intercoastal-only route will elude). However, the traffic may be a different story.
Yea, ditto the inside run, but I don't think I can get there without alot of delays, and a 10 hour drive doesn't need delays. I don't think my crew will go now either, I'm looking for crew here locally, know any good, spin running, able, good attitude person?
thanks Dave, in case we need it, maybe we'll round it or something if we go inside the whole way. The Destin Forecast is for med-light winds on Saturday, hope it's 15-20!
