Posts: 179 dallas tx | Does anyone know were I can get the aluminum bar for beach wheels? I have made my own but am having trouble finding the aluminum tube that goes between the wheels. Also I have a nacra 5.2, does anyone know the length that I need. I have hull cradles for the bar.
Thanks airborne

Posts: 3,293 Long Beach, California | I found a supplier in the phone book when I started looking. It was really cheap to buy my own axle. As for length, I'd just put the cradles under the hull and measure the distance from outside-to-outside.
Good luck! Let us know how it works out! <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Posts: 31 Richmond, VA | I just did an axel replacement for the 1"OD tube for the smaller wheels. Original wall thickness was 1/4", and I found it at ... http://www.metalsdepot.com/products/alum2.phtml?page=rndtube&LimAcc=%20&aident=I tried using the 1/8" wall pipe, but it wasn't heavy enough for it. I got an 8' section for about 60 bucks with shipping. UPS maxies out at 10' for shipping. If I had ordered a 12 foot section it would have been about $170.00 Rich
I can stall the sails with the best of 'em!

Recycling places get $2 per pound for Aluminum: 1/4 inch is best. I still have several tubes obtained from the University many years ago.
