I did some racing this weekend with the local sailing club. I managed to be the first multihull around the course both races. But that isn't saying much there were only four of us and the wind was so light that the power boat wakes would stop me.

Here is the boat that was close behind me every time, the guy who owns it took out a few people that hadn't sailing before so they struggled a few times. But it still felt good beating them.

Looks like a good time, who has been sailing longer you or him? Maybe with some time you can learn to make the Sol Cat keep up.

Is that an F28? We have one at our local spot too, but he rarely puts his sails up because the reach is so short. Gorgeous boat though.

I have been sailing longer, and I can hold him off pretty well for a time, but I have to use every trick I know to do it. He is starting to get the Nacra dialed in so it is getting harder. Definitely points better than the Solcat, and better in light air, but if I can keep him on a broad reach at full power we are pretty close.

Yeah, that is an F28, that thing is fast and he takes it out alot. This summer he hasn't been able to as much but he sails alot on that and and Inter20. I have actually been out on the F28 a few times and that thing is fast!

Also it is scary when he is bearing down on my little 5.2!

Well, the 5.2 is fast, and I kinda have to root for it since i have one. But keep practicing, it is always surprising what some boats can do. My friend on a Hobie 14, caught both me and the F28 on a downwind run this weekend. Basically he gained almost a quarter mile on a 1/2 mile leg.
