Posts: 613 New Hampshire, USA | What do you use for trapeeze Harnesses? What type of footwear do you use for sticking to the sides of a hull? What type of suit do you use? Wet or Dry?
I am posting this because it is time to change what I own and am looking to see what works well for others. Thank you for your input.

Posts: 1,187 38.912, -95.37 | What do you use for trapeeze Harnesses? the Aquata Equipe XT, excellent lumbar support and is ready for '09 quick release What type of footwear do you use for sticking to the sides of a hull? Anything body glove, inexpensive and will need replacement in a year or two regardless (we don't have a beach...yet) What type of suit do you use? Wet or Dry? wet suits and spray stuff (gul) because our early and late season needs are so short in length don't warrant the expense of dry

Sperry Figawi shoes, although they literally fell apart in less than a year, I will be tryin something new now.
Gill spray gear, or a 5/4 neil pryde steamer (that doubles for windsurfing)with spray gear over it for those really cold days (for Florida).

Posts: 302 Raleigh/ Wrightsville Beach NC | Harness-- Murrays full race harness- it has two built in battens for lumbar support and clips to get in and out of easily. It doesn't bind the boys either. http://www.murrays.com/archive/44-45.pdfShoes- I'm in the market also.. Don't think the Shoe Goo will hold my old ones together much longer. Main thing is to get ones that lace up. The slip on ones will slip off while getting out on the wire. I have booties, but I like my shoes with neophrene socks in colder weather. Foul weather gear- I normally go with a farmer john wetsuit and Kayak splash jacket. I vary from rash shirts to poly pro turtlenecks underneth depending on the temp. I normally don't race in conditions lower than the 60s, so the wetsuit is comfortable. However, this past Spring Fever regatta, conditions were in the 40 to low 50s and I borrowed a Dry Suit. It was the way do go in those extreme conditions. If you fork out $$ for a dry suit, get the integrated booties. It is well worth the extra money. I'm hoping to find one on sale and buy one this year. | | | Re: Poll- What do you use for Trapeeze Harnesses

Posts: 5,590 Naples, FL | Comments on the Harkan sailing shoe? It would appear to have good traction, arch support, and dry quickly. But I don't believe everything I read....

Shoes: $15 used wrestling shoes (gum rubber soles) off ebay (but I need to stock up again so please don't bid against me!).
On the shoes, however, I've gotten used to sailing barefoot again....it takes a while to earn the trampoline calluses on my ankles but I really prefer the non-soggy feet when it's not too cold.

Posts: 267 Ocean Springs, MS | I have the equipe XT. I really like how well it works however I was inevitably bound up after a few ins and outs. I don't believe you can avoid this with the full harnesses. I took a shot a differnt style and bought the Dakine Nitrous shorts http://www.amazon.com/Dakine-Nitrous-Harness/dp/B000KI26AOI love em. If you are alright without shoulder harnesses i would recommend these. I honestly don't have any of the typical problems with these shorts. the harness is integral to the shorts. If I'm going to be on a long race >10 miles I opt for the Equipe since my abs are in no conditions to last that long. if you are racing cans they are perfect. I also found if I was giving rides at the beach it was a real hastle to come in and off the beach with a full harness. thats just my 2 cents.

Posts: 12,310 South Carolina | I used to wear a dry-suit anytime the weather was less than a spray top could handle. However, after wearing a drysuit out completely over the course of three years (and Kokatat sending me a new one for FREE), I now only wear the dry suit when it's really cold (sub 40 degree air and/or sub 65 degree water). Other times, I wear a spray suit with a lot of fleece underneath.
