Posts: 15 | Does anyone know of a second hand main or jib in the UK? I'm based in the south but would be willing to travel. I've just bought a second hand Stealth, less main and jib and will ultimately be looking to buy new sails but thought for my 'training period' aka sail trashing period, some old sails might be better...

Which boat did you buy Jeff? What's the sail number?

Posts: 15 | Hi John, I bought the boat off John Levell, it's No. 506 I think, at least that is what is on the cover... Can't wait to go out in it!

Posts: 954 Mumbles Y.C Wales U.K | See if Paul Warren is willing to sell is old Ullmans. They are probably a little bit better than 506's sails!!! MP*MULTIHULLS | | | Re: Second hand main or jib in the UK?

Posts: 15 | yes I thought 506 was a bit early for the boat considering it's got the new bow profile...

Posts: 976 France | on similar thread , anyone know of any stealths for sail in uk , I have folk at my club interested ???????? There is a rarely used 2006 fully tricked double hander Stealth for sale at DWSC. Includes trailer with box, cover, beach wheels, bags for appendages, everything really. Owner prefer to sail his lasers with his kids and did not click with the cat life. There is an ad for the boat pinned next to the entrance door to the wet bar, so just call the club 01753 683872 and ask the person who answer to read you the contact number. Alternatively call Mike at the dinghy store 01753 681001, he can probably put you in contact as well. | | | Re: Second hand main or jib in the UK?

Posts: 976 France | Following my own post: this boat is listed with another one on this web page. Another one is here. And yet more there.

Posts: 15 | Hi Jeff Welcome to the UK F16 "Flying Circus". Where do you race and will we see you next year? Hi Mark, I'm going to keep the boat down here in South Devon - probably the Mount Batten Centre @ Plymouth or Paignton Sailing Club if I can blag my way in - they're really tight on cat spaces... There doesn't seem to be much of a cat-friendly club racing scene down here (compared to the Solent), apart from Starcross SC on the river Exe, but they only allow Dart 18s and Hurricane 5.9s in their dinghy park.... Hope to spend the winter learning to sail the boat and then try to get to some events next year - is there a UK Travellers' Trophy sort of thing?

Posts: 954 Mumbles Y.C Wales U.K | That was one of my reasons for asking: To see if the Club you sail at had an Open which we could add to a travellers. This year we lost the plot a little and only had one event but off the record I'm sure next year will be better....I hope. Mumbles Y.C will be hosting the Global Challenge in Aug 08 but prior to this we will be running various events including. The Gower Cat Challenge and The Welsh Cat Championships. So if people are willing to make the effort you'll be more than welcome to join us and make one of the above into a Travellers meeting and vice versa, if you know of an event in which we could participate in I would more than happy to join in and meet you and the rest of the Circus. Posts: 954 Mumbles Y.C Wales U.K | The F16 you posted the link to has been sold and the new owner now races at Mumbles. Anyway, I didn't think the Scotish would spend that much money in one go. <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> MP*MULTIHULLS | | |
