Posts: 393 Syracuse,N.Y | Nice measured response Mary. We have all done and said stupid things we regret. I also think that Mr.Weanie should apologize and sign it. How one handles these kind of mistakes is more important(to me anyway) than the mistake itself.
On a positive note. My first experience with a disabled sailor was at the 17 Nationals in Syracuse.Matt probably has the article from the Hotline. He was very excited that we were going to have the event on a lake(No surf). He (Evan?) was then able to have his support team lift him on the boat a push him off. He was a great guy and a pretty darn good sailor. He was able to compete in a Nationals before his disability made it impossible. Pretty Cool.

That's Rich McVeigh in the photo.
HZ just stole the photo (without giving credit) and did a very basic job with PhotoShop.

Posts: 1,304 Gulf Coast relocated from Cali... | Just by going through all his posts, I would bet money that he is a 16A Fleeter. He must be pretty well known. He obviously likes to promote youth sailing (his posts)but not youth handicapped sailing. Defend him all you wish but still a spineless worm to me. Still would love to meet him in person.

Posts: 164 fort Myers, FL | It was definitely not me, as you can tell from my username I don't like to hide behind some alias. Where my name came into the mix is that I now own Rich's old boat, which is the H16 in the picture (#107568). I would suggest though that before we start throwing around names we clarify the context in which that name is used and are certain of our allegations. I teach physical therapy for a living so I get to spent a lot of time with people with disabilities, and I do not appreciate my name being associated with this type of posting <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> Pitchpoledave: I would appreciate it if you would delete this posting or edit my name out of it.

Posts: 1,253 Columbia South Carolina, USA | why dont we ALL stop posting to this and quit while we are ahead. This can only go nowhere, and Mary's right, HZ has probably learned a lesson.

Posts: 164 fort Myers, FL | With all due respect Mary, as the unwitting subject of the party depicted in that last photo, I would request that this does not get put to bed until the reference to my name gets removed from this thread. I send the person who posted my name unrefutable evidence that he was wrong, and requested that he post something to that effect.
