Posts: 954 Mumbles Y.C Wales U.K | I agree with Rolf but would also like to add that F16's have a great advantage in being able to be RACED either 1 or 2 up. So in this regard we are extremely different to nearly every other competitive Catamaran Class. MP*MULTIHULLS | | | Re: Formula 1.04 catamaran class

Posts: 954 Mumbles Y.C Wales U.K | Hi Tim You are correct the SCHRS rating for a 2up F16 is 1.02 add a couple of kilos and bigger sail area to compensate and you end up with the 1.04 rating? add a couple more kilos and even bigger sails and you end up with a F18!!!! Sometimes I think SCHRS is too hung up on weight alone MP*MULTIHULLS | | | Re: Formula 1.04 catamaran class

How many kilos? I saw a Hobie 16 being raced one up with 35kg of bricks strapped to the middle of the tramp, might be the answer, could knock up a nice pizza oven while sailing. Darryn Mozzie 1782 | | | Re: Formula 1.04 catamaran class

F104 DOES NOT ALLOW SINGLE HANDING. I think we should take this to the discussion in General forum. Linky

Posts: 6,049 Sebring, Florida. | Can't we add in crew weight, or should I say, over-weight? I've probably got an extra 22 Kilos right here!

Posts: 539 | This have been discussed at length earlier. The 1.04 and the F16 are two distinctly different concepts so the 1.04 is no more a threat than the F18, H16 or the 49er for that sake. We are all promoting catamaran sailing and racing, so talking about a threat is a bit strong.
Who are you by the way? A small introduction would be nice. Haven't those posts had been deleted? But I thought that F16 was all for open discussion, no need to try and shut it down straight away. | | | Re: Formula 1.04 catamaran class

Unregistered | The Challenge National 1.04 took place in Lorrient Brittany at the weekend. 30 teams took part with five manufacturers represented; Mattia, Cirrus, Spitfire, Nacra and Hobie. Racing was close and Spitfires took the top two places. This formula seams to work is it a threat to F16? Hi all, I too think a little introduction wouldn't hurt. For that matter why do unknown posters keep popping up on the F16 forum talking about classes that they think are threats to F16? As far as I know we don't go on to other class forums declaring F16 to be a threat to them. Do we? | | | Re: Formula 1.04 catamaran class

Why should introductions be required? For one thing we are on the internet and user accounts and names can be created at whim. I could create one tomorrow, restart the F16 weight thread and introduce myself with a fabricated/false story and dupe many users. I think take the post on what it says, and by choosing not to comment usually means the thread dies if you don't want to discuss. Simple really, and less confrontational/antagonistic compared to many of the users on this forum who feel compelled to "die by the sword" for F16. | | | Re: Formula 1.04 catamaran class
